Revolution, directed by Darcy Radcliffe and David Keown, is a troupe of 13 violinists, two violists, two guitarists, one cellist and one bass player, between the ages of 14-18. Their performances highlight the talent and musicianship of the finest string players from the Abilene High and Cooper High School Orchestra programs; Abilene, Texas. Revolution combines jazz, Celtic, country and every style in between for an energetic and inspiring musical experience. Upheld by a strong classical music background, this dynamic approach to music making has appealed to audiences of all ages. In the past 4 years Revolution has been on the National Public Radio’s acclaimed show “From the Top,” as well special musical guests at the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals’ state convention in 2006, the Association of Secondary School Principals National Convention in 2008, and the Texas Music Educator’s Association convention in 2009. They have worked with the international touring fiddle phenomenon “Barrage,” multiple times and were the pre and post concert entertainment for the professional fiddle group, Bowfire. In December 2006, Revolution released their first CD.
